Repair & Renovation of Building 9933A/B - Tele-Psychology
Madigan Army Medical Center, Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM), WA
Upgrade an existing one-story wood framed brick veneer building to current structural, military security, safety and general building standards. Create a new floor plan to meet the new intended building function and maintain the historical character and features of the building to conform to the locale.
Prime Architectural Subcontractor – The building was gutted to bare masonry walls, ceiling and floors. We did all the structural upgrades including new concrete footings, perimeter shear walls, reinforced the existing perimeter masonry walls, and blast frames for the exterior doors & windows. We removed existing exterior entry stairs & ramps and replaced them with contemporary ADA standard ramps, stairs & handrails. For the existing exterior wood framed additions we upgraded the framing to allow for R-19 insulation, replaced the existing windows with ATFP rated windows and replaced the siding with cedar drop-lap siding to match the existing. The new perimeter framing was a component for the blast resistant windows and doors, as well as being the shear walls. We did the interior framing, insulation, doors & frames, ATFP windows, GWB, floor coverings, acoustic ceilings, painting, toilet partitions, bath accessories, interior signage, misc. specialty items, cabinets & countertops, and window treatments. Hilger Construction provided continuous onsite overall project supervision and value engineering.
